Interactive Maps
Below are three tabs that allow you to explore the study’s findings by town. Just place your cursor over the town name to view the data. There are three maps to explore: The first displays the amount of privately owned land with four important open space resources*, the second provides information about which privately owned lands are difficult to develop*, and the last provides information on the location of conservation, development and preferred growth areas. The last map displays data for conservation and development but does not map preferred growth areas. Preferred Growth is meant to offer broad-scale estimates of areas that can accommodate growth. This information would require further refinement at the town-scale before being mapped publically. The GIS data and the methodology and data sources are also available.

*The map colors represent total values. The individual values may overlap causing the total to be less than the sum of the parts.
