Conservation Capital- New York
OSI has its roots in New York State, where we began our conservation work. Since 1974, OSI has protected nearly 116,000 acres in New York through direct acquisition of land and easements in the region.
The New York Land Protection Loan Fund, capitalized in part with a Program Related Investment (PRI) from the Kaplan Foundation, operates from the Adirondacks to the Hudson Highlands just north of New York City.
Though unsolicited applications for loans will be accepted throughout the region, OSI will give preference to projects that are identified within OSI’s core focus areas: Adirondacks, Catskills, Capital Region, and Hudson River Valley.
As of July 2012, OSI has completed loans totaling $32,800,000 to protect 162,905 acres in New York.
