HELP OSI BUILD A NEW Minnewaska visitor center
OSI's fundraising campaign for a new visitor center at Minnewaska State Park Preserve is off to a grand start. To date, OSI has raised $2.65 million toward a $3 million goal. The recently announced public phase of the campaign seeks to raise the final $350,000 for a new gateway building and state-of-the-art exhibits.

GEORGIA CONSERVATION SAVES RARE SPECIES
OSI and the State of Georgia made two significant land acquisitions in southeast Georgia. One property secures critical habitat for the gopher tortoise and one of the state’s rarest plants, the hairy rattleweed. The other will help protect key wildlife habitats along the Altamaha River.

next steps in plan For BOONTON RESERVOIR
An OSI-led plan to protect and improve the Boonton Reservoir has been formally approved by the Jersey City Council. With its endorsement, OSI and the Morris County Park Commission will proceed to the next phase in their creation of the “Boonton Reservoir Protection and Trail Project”

OSI LANDS added to NEW YORK STATE PARKs 
OSI applauds Governor Andrew Cuomo’s efforts to protect 4,000 acres in the Mid-Hudson Valley, of which more than 2,700 acres were protected by OSI, including land expanding Minnewaska, Schunnemunk, and Harriman State Parks.

Climate plan is NATURE-BASED 
A proposal advanced by Governor Andrew Cuomo would place a $3 billion bond act before the voters this November. Among other items, the bond act would pursue natural, land-based solutions to climate change, protect water sources, habitat restoration, and mitigate flood damage.

TRAIL PARTNERS FOR RIVER-TO-RIDGE SKIING
A new partnership with the Shawangunk Nordic Ski Association will maintain cross- country skiing paths at OSI's River-to-Ridge Trail. The grooming will provide consistent trail conditions and improve the public’s access during winter months.
