The Open Space Institute will host its Annual Luncheon on October 24 at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. The event will feature OSI's presentation of the 2019 Land Conservation Award to Diana Taylor, who among many other roles and achievements, serves as Chair of the Hudson River Park Trust. The event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about OSI's accomplishments and goals, while celebrating a great environmental leader.

BLUESTONE WILD FOREST 555
TRAIL WORK UNDERWAY AT BLUESTONE FOREST
OSI has finalized a plan for trail construction at a 208-acre property it purchased earlier this year which links two previously unconnected sections of the Catskill Park’s Bluestone Wild Forest. The trail construction began this month and will be completed in October.

OSI DONATES PRESERVE TO LOCAL CONSERVANCY 
Two decades after first conserving Hannacroix Creek Preserve, OSI has donated the property to the New Baltimore Conservancy. The Preserve serves as a popular public recreational resource and helps to protect water quality in the Hudson River.

MORE Climate-Resilient lANDS PROTECTED IN NC
An OSI grant helped protect property near a scenic creek in central North Carolina.The land can continue to provide a refuge for plants and animals, even as the climate changes. With mature hardwood forest and habitat for rare species, the 250-acre property possesses over a half-mile of frontage on Poison Fork Creek.

model LAND acquisition for water AND WILDLIFE
With support from OSI, a long-abandoned blueberry farm is now permanently preserved as open space. The property will expand recreational opportunities in central New Jersey while protecting drinking water within the Delaware River.
