Thanks to grant support from OSI, popular Jones Gap State Park has been expanded for recreation and to protect rare plant and animal species. Located in South Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the property will continue to safeguard critical habitat, even as the climate changes.

Improving southern access to the popular High Peaks is central to a new one million dollar capital improvement plan unveiled this month for OSI’s 212-acre Tahawus property in the heart of the Adirondacks. Under the plan, OSI seeks to improve public access to the Tahawus property, Henderson Lake, and several Adirondack High Peaks; preserve historic structures; and enrich the visitor experience.

BUILDING trail BRIDGES AT FAHNESTOCK PARK

OSI, once again, partnered with cadets from the West Point Military Academy and New York State Parks to build a trail bridge on the School Mountain Road Trail at Fahnestock State Park. This is the second bridge design and construction project completed by future engineers at the Academy.
